On hot and muggy night the BlueJays on the pitching shoulders of Lex Herlett and a typical excellent BlueJays defense along with some timely hitting carried us to a 5-4 victory over the BlackSox Sunday night. The BlueJays built a 5-1 lead going into the 7th inning but the BlackSox fought back on a series of hits and walk to close the gap with men on first and second and two outs. The next batter chopped one in front of the plate where our catcher scooped it out and threw to first. Bob Noto had a big hit in the top of 7th to drive in what turned out to be the winning run. Bob Yakatan had two hits to lead the BlueJays. Dave Latina, Artie Gianakos, Dave Forman, and Brian Allen (who also had a key RBI each had a hit.
Pitching for the BlackSox was John Pologa who pitched well, especially getting out of tough situations.
