The 45 Dodgers and Black Sox and a sub or two for each team faced off Thursday night at Swift Road. We played with 9 so we didn't keep the Black Sox book so i can't add much detail for them.
Dodgers threatened in the first but were unable to plate a run. Going into the bottom of the 3rd tied 0-0 the Dodgers started off with a Herlett single, a walk by Hicks and a Corrigan single to load the bases with no outs. Dave Reed delivered with a 2 RBI double to take a 2-0 lead and then added two more runs on singles by Newcomb and Labarge.
Dodgers add a run in the 4th on singles by Hicks and Corrigan to take a 5-0 lead.
Black Sox strike for 3 in the top of the 5th on a walk, a couple of singles and a double (no book so i can't give credit to anyone) to cut the score to 5-3 at the end of 5 innings.
Dodgers add 4 more in the bottom of the 6th to go up 9-3 on an error and then singles by Caputo, Reed and Kanellis.
Jim Bonaparte threw for the Dodgers and pitched a great game. If my memory is correct he limited them to one hit through four innings. He lasted into the 6th when Ralph Caputo came in for the save and threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
Dodgers had a double and a single by Reed, 2 singles by Corrigan and Newcomb along with singles by Hicks, Kanellis, Bonaparte, Labarge, Herlett and Caputo.
