A little late in my update, but for the record the Black Sox defeated the Vets 5-2.
Jerry Solomon threw a complete game 6 hitter with 4 K's and no earned runs. We Black Sox seem to like to fumble the white pill frequently once a game or Jerry would have had a shut out. Joe "House" Hauser had 2 hits and 2 rbi to lead the Sox offensively.
The Vets starting pitcher Dave Hartman came through big in the third inning when the Sox loaded the bases with no outs only to end the inning with no runs after striking out the next 3 batters. We will be meeting again and I'm sure it will be another competitive game.
