The WhizKids defeated the Marlins Thursday night at Satellite Stadium. Darrell Duncan went 3-4 with 6 RBI to lead the offense. Jeff Teats and Jim Porter also collected 3 hits each as 12 different players hit safely. The Whiz took a 5-0 lead in the top of the 1st on RBI singles by Duncan, Mike Lannon, Porter, and Teats. They added 6 more runs in the 2nd, with Duncan's 2-run double the highlight. The Marlins came back with 2 in the 1st, 3 in the 2nd, and 1 in the 3rd, with Tom Foley scoring 2 runs and knocking in 2. The score stayed 11-6 until the 7th, when the Whiz batted around. Jesse Braverman scored twice, and Duncan had his 2nd double-a bases clearing shot. Chris Abrams shook off a slow start to improve to 3-0. As always, Ed Diegel and the rest of the Marlins are a class act. Jim Porter-WhizKids
