Yep, the Black Sox handed the Yankees a 9-1 thrashing on a gorgeous day for baseball @ New Scotland. Jerry Solomon was absolutely lights out as he pitched what was while technically a one-hitter, really a quasi no hitter.
There was a lost pop up in the bright sky that led to the Yankees only hit in the 6th inning and actually our only run as well. Jerry mixed his pitches up and changed speeds beautifully as he had the Yankees off balance all day in pitching a complete game gem...
Kuddos to Don and his Black Sox as they also hit the ball very well and played pretty good defense too... As the score indicates, they won all aspects of the game and looked very good in doing it...
Look forward to playing them again in a few weeks, but first a big game against the defending champion Giants next week in a rematch of last years finals... That's going to be fun!
Happy Memorial Day and I Hope everyone's enjoying a long Memorial Day weekend...

60-plus-years-old and Solomon keeps on amazing. He's got to be one of the very best 60-plus pitchers in the country. A great competitor and a class act, too! JimK
