To all 45 managers, please be sure to contact Harold and Scott when games are postponed for any reason. Do no rely on the Bulletin Board to get them this information. The umpires have to be notified as quickly as possible, so direct contact with Harold and Scott would be more timely.
Thanx.

Also duh for the 35 Highlanders v Hummingbirds game being rained out... And I already informed Mark Fitch and the umpires themselves ~ as well as talked to Ron Coon earlier this am and he knew @ 0800 hrs so he could tell his guys not to drive up...
Plus I cc'd Tommy, so does he reschedule the game ~ is that what happens next???

As yeah, I know the Birds are prolly thinking they want to get the game in to pad their stats, huh?
But hey, ya never know ~ just see Frank's post!

Hey Mr. Highlanders' Manager:
The rules are posted on the Web site. They have been amended and will be reposted hopefully by the end of the week.

But, there is protocol in the rules that is staying as is re: postponed games. Read that and you will know exactly what to do.

But since you are still giddy over your upcoming nuptuals and reading will liklely prove an unattainable challenge until Aug. 11, I'll offer you this 1-day special at no charge: The rule:

ARTICLE 9
Rescheduling games
9-1. General Managers have 48 hours from the time of postponement to agree on a rescheduled time, date and location.

9-2. The Commissioner shall approve the time, date, and site of a rescheduled game. If the General Managers fail to agree as described in Rule 9-1, the Commissioner shall determine the date, time and location, and his decision shall be binding.

9-3. Playing a rescheduled game without the CDMSBL Presidents commissioners approval can result in a forfeit for both teams with all sanctions in Rule 2-2 applied.
A rescheduling protocol should be set by each commissioner, and adhered to by each GM, prior to the season and presented in that division's season plan.

There ya have it Mark. BTW, I absolutely love your enthusiasm for the game. Glad you are a part of CDMSBL. You certainly keep us, um, well, let's say "entertained.''

Funny Jim, Funny... Maybe you and Donnie Ball can go on the road together as you guys are pretty "entertaining" yourselves!

But as for this rule, just like MANY other rules (not just in the CDMSBL, but most anywhere), this is WIDE-open to interpretation...

I mean, how could I possibly set up a make-up game w/out access to a field availability spreadsheet???
As there is no question that Tommy works hard at the thankless job of commish, I'd love to alleviate that little headache from him, but have no means to do so...
Or am I the only GM who doesn't have this info since I am new and this is the first time this has come up for me?

I dunno, but the real rule is more like "Sit back, do nothing, and wait for the commish to do everything and then inform you ~ then pass it along to your players."

Holy beejezus batman ~ I am again starting to think I may have been better off when all I had to do is show up and play shortstop... Iy-yi-yi...

Oh you, too, are a funny man.
You and the opposing manager pick a couple of dates then send them to the commish. He'll find the field.

I realize this is may not be the best way, but commishes need dates before they can find a field.

Which is the cart and which is the horse?
Thnx Marcus
