The Cubs took the first of 3 games with the A's in 2012, 6-1. Phil Gadomski pitched the first 6 innings, giving up just one run. Steve Lounello was overpowering in his one inning of relief, striking out 2. The Cubs scored 5 times in the 4th inning to decide the game, with the help of a brief bought of wildness by A's starter Bobby Poulin, as Bobby walked in two runs during the rally. The score might have been a little more lopsided hadn't the Cubs made 4 or 5 base running blunders, including a premature ending to the 4th inning, when Booby Lane threw out a Cubs' batter (to remain nameless) at first, from center field, after what looked like an RBI single up the middle. Jim Moore also made two great throws from left, cutting down Cubs' runners at second and home. The A's are for real, and will be in the hunt for one of the top four spots, if they can get some quality pitching. Good luck until we meet again.

Bahaha ~ You were the first person I thought of when I read it as I thought you were using some self-deprecating humor... But now since I see it was just plain, straight old humor, you have me going down the Cubs line-up in my head... hmmm... And I can think of a couple of possibilities actually, but uh yeah, I better keep my guesses to myself, huh? Or we could make it like AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and just use first names???

Turnip truck? Did T.M. just fall off of the turnip truck? I'm guessing T.M. ~ cash or not! Unless someone is trying to throw people off the scent with the turnip truck comment??? Hell, maybe it was him? But I really don't want to think the best SS in the league(s) was lolly gagging it down to first, I'm a little partial towards them... Tell me it wasn't you RC, was it!

This particular base runner will be inducted into the Mike Girard School of Base Running Hall of Fame for this one incident! Generations to come will be learning from his example! You might have to pay for a full semester to discover his identity.
I know who it is! My lips are sealed. I kinda want to give a hint, but I can't do or say anything or Girard will lock his beer cooler when he sees me! JimK
Wow, inquiring minds want to know. Well, It looks like the list has been depleted,,, except for 1 That I can think of. I could throw a name out there but I couldn't throw him under the bus like this. Maybe at a cooler session or when I get him in the bar during a "team meeting". Why wasn't I there for this one. Damn!
This is funny! I am bound by the bribery agreement not to publicize. Buy me a beer sometime and the purchase of said beer may trump that agreement! ;>)
It's gonna come out, but I will tell you unequivically that it's NOT Tom Maney, it's NOT Mike Girard, it's NOT Ron Lochner, it's NOT Jim McQuade, it's NOT Phil "Mash'' Gadomski, it's NOT Mike Ferraro, it's NOT Steve Lounello and it's NOT Andy Hoyle ... JimK
