Any volunteers would be greatly appreciated on Saturday March 24th at Central Babe Ruth in Albany. CBR is supplying the field for the 35 Division this year again and they are upgrading their facilities and could use our help. Guys fields are hard to come by and a couple of hours here could go a long way in establishing a great long term relationship with CBR. We will meet at the field at 10am. Hope to see you there next Saturday!!!
In case you hadn't heard, the prices at Dutchmen were raised significantly this year. If you want to play on quality fields, I see two choices: 1. Dig deeper and pay over $300 per division per year for your fees. 2. Put in a little sweat equity into a field that has potential, but a couple of rough edges.
Improvements included - remove/install dugout fences, improve drainage around home plate, improve mound, improve batting cage.
It is unrealistic to think that you can just show up anymore. Time to put in a little bit of work that will pay long-term benefits. You probably have practice this Saturday anyway.
Fields have always been a problem. You've heard me say it before - you can either keep being part of the problem, or you can be part of the solution - your call.
Hope to see you out there, Tommy Smith 35 Commissioner
Well said, Tommy. We are CDMSBL - one league. Let's get players from all divisions there and network a little while doing some good for the youth of Albany for which I can use this in ongoing talks with Mayor Jennings. Thanx guys. Jim Konstantakis
Great Job done by all who volunteered their time and hard work today! We represented our league proudly today with close to 15 guys helping restore the Central Babe Ruth. CBR Board Members were impressed and very thankful for the work done on the field!
