After a short rain delay and a great job by both teams to fix the field back up to play the game ended in dramatic fashion.
The Outlaws struck 1st in the 1st inning scoring 1 run on a base hit to right field by Phil Weinman. Then Jimmy Rogers singled to left center field puting runners on the corners. Brendan Roberts then singled to left driving in the 1st Outlaws run.
The score stayed 1-0 in favor of the Outlaws until the top of the 5th when the Outlaws struck again with a 1 out single to right field by Kody Caulfied. A Walk to Tom Hopkins gave the Outlaws runners on 1st and 2nd for lead off hitter Jami Burnetter who singled home the Outlaws 2nd run.
The Cannons would battle back in the bottom half of the inning with back to bac walks to Dave Ames and Jason Maurides. Eric Joyce the sac bunted the runners over giving the cannons 2nd and 3rd with only 1 out. Eric Wilsey would then single up the middle driving in 2 runs.
The score was tied at 2 going into the Top of the 7th inning. The Outlaws Quentin Jensen would lead the inning off with a HBP. Dave Guiliano would pinch run for Jensen. Kody Caulfield would single to right field giving the Outlaws runners on 1st and 2nd. Tom Hopkins would sac bunt the runners over giving the Outlaws 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Jami Burnetter would be intentionally walked to load the bases. The Cannons then mae a pitching change bringing in Danny Barberio. Barberio gets Weinman to strikeout for the 2nd out. Jimmy Rogers would then single to down the 3rd base line just out of the reach of Eric Wilsey at 3rd driving in the Outlaws 3 run of the night. Adam Anderson then gets on with a HBP plating a run as the bases were loaded. With a 4 to 2 lead the Outlaws would score 3 runs on 2 passed balls as on the 2nd past ball the pitcher never covered home and Adam Anderson scored from 2nd base. Now with a 7 to 2 lead the Cannons brought in Scott Steltz to finish the game. With a 2-0 count Brendan Roberts walks bringing up Carlos Maldanado who hits the ball off the left field fence driving in Roberts but Maldanado was thrown out at 3rd after the runner had scored.
The Outlaws win Game 3 8 to 2.
Game 4 is tonight at 6:15 pm at Dutchman field.
