... the Reds/Giants game featured a special appearance by Dick Stark, who was elected to the CDMSBL Hall of Fame last year.
Dick was back in the area visiting from his new home in Charlotte, N.C. It was great to see him again and have him back in the Giants lineup - even if it was just for one game.
Thanx again Mr. Stark for all you've done for CDMSBL over the years and for taking the time from your family to join your old teamates for a game. Your presence brought back a lot of memories and smiles - not all that we can put into print!!! The Giants will always be your home team!
It was great surprise to see Dick standing there when I got to the field. Dick played on my Senators team for a few years, wayyyyyy back in the original 30+ division. As a matter of fact, I think the Senators was the team he made his CDMSBL debut with. One thing we talked about last night was him missing the majority of 1 season with a torn groin, but he showed up every game to do the book. He's also the first person I know who had a batting cage in his yard. Thats dedication.
