Saturday June 18th, six CDMSBL teams will be traveling to Pittsfield, MA to play at historic Wahconah Park.
Wahconah Park is the former home of professional franchises including theAAA Red Sox, where names like Fisk,Scott and Petrocelli toiled, to the AA Cubs featuring Maddux,Payton and Palmeiro, to the A ball Mets and Astros, with the latter having left Pittsfield for the "Joe" in Troy.
Currently, it is the home of the Pittsfield Colonials, an Independant Professional team that plays in the Canadien-American League. (CANAM) . Check out their website @ Pittsfieldcolonials.com for some affordable,quality baseball.
As for the 18th, @ 9:00 the 35 division Brooklyn Dodgers will host the expansion Padres. That game will be followed by a rematch of last years 35 finals, with the Orioles hosting their long-time rivals, the defending champion Cubs. The trifecta will conclude when the 18 and over division showcases the Colonie Knights and the South Troy Cudas.
Concession stands will be open all day, so it should be a fun day for players and families alike, that make the short trip over. The Colonials play a 7:00 game later that evening.
