I think the Golf Outing is a great idea, prior to joining the MSBL when we were part of the CDNABA we had a golf outing at Colonie Golf Course and it was a great event. We had the usual longest drive and closest to the pin, but we also had "Bet The Cuda", on one of the Par 3 holes we had the one and only Patrick Doyle (Manager of the Cudas) at the hole and players could bet up to $20 if they could put it on the green or not. We didn't do much of an after party but we had raffels and door prizes and I believe if we had all the divisions as part of the Tournament it would be great for the legaue and we could make it an annual event with a big party after Golfing.
I am not sure if we would like to do it at Colonie again, but if so I can reach out to them and get rates and prices on food and drinks at the turn. If we wanted to make a day out of it we could look into locations around the course for an after party where we could raffle things off, do a 50/50, have some food, and most importantly have a few brews. I think the best day to do this would be a Saturday and with that said I know the majority of the leagues/teams have games on Saturdays. If we could nail down a date for the tournament and get a good number of people to play I think our wonderful commissioners could try and re-scheduled any games that were to be played that day.
