Slide Rule or No Slide Rule
(Preview)
I wasn't involved in this game due to the Marlins getting a bye, but I do have a personal comment on this. In the Marlins game vs. the Mets earlier this year in what was a close game, I was on third (the tying run) and a ball was hit to shortstop. As I was running home I saw the catcher moving up the line towards m...

Are we fair game for runners who have made a poor decision to try to score?
Yes or no will do.
Are runners required to slide into home or are they allowed to get a running shot at our league's catchers to try to jar the ball...

Great new ballfield
(Preview)
Lost in all of the excitement of Saturdays' Cub/Yankee game was the fact they we played on an exceptional new ball field at Ichabod Crane High School. Mike Kravitz should be thanked profusely for the job he did on the field, as well as securing the field for that game. The dimensions are perfect for the o...

On behalf of the A's... we congratulate the (10-10) Tigers for beating the (16-4) A's in a game that came down to the last inning and the Tigers came out on top 8-6. It is never easy to accept a loss after a great season, especially when it is easier to point fingers. But hats off to you guys... you hit the sno...

Must Slide
(Preview)
I believe that Ralph already quoted the actual rule. I am not a league official, but I am familiar with the issue at hand.
Frankly, I'm shocked that there's any ambiguity at all. The rule is clear: Must slide. The last thing we want to see is a big crashup at home plate. It's the obligation of every man...
